Imperial Beach is the most Southwesterly city in the continental United States. The annual Imperial Beach Sandcastle Competition is the largest sandcastle building competition in the US. This festival encompasses a full weekend including a street festival, live music and entertainment. Master and amateur sand carving teams from throughout the US and Canada compete for more than $21,000 in cash and prizes. It is a fun event that adds to the character of this beach front community.
There is much to see and do in Imperial Beach from swimming or surfing at the beach, touring public art, nature walking and bird watching at the world-renowned Tijuana Estuary, or just sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying the sunset from your private patio in one of the least expensive beach front communities in California.
